Completes the core rewrite for #1858, following the verified map in pkgs/mcpx/docs/opencode-plugin-v2.md §6 (groundwork PR #2457, merged). Related: #730 (the fleet's deployed .opencode/plugin/ copy — a different artifact; this core's shape is what gets ported there under #730, not in this PR).
The v2 tree (pkgs/mcpx/plugin/opencode/v2/, beside the untouched v1 files):
index.ts — export default { id: "mcpx", setup }; setup wires storage warm-read, context hook, session-env, timing, and tool registration last (registration can never fail setup)
options.ts — v1 Options + resolution for every setting the core consumes, property reads of declared names only (settings guard)
session-env.ts — PUT /api/session/:id/environment once per session with the full env (route replaces; doc §3), quiet degrade with no serverUrl
context.ts — idempotent system-prompt paragraph via session.hook("context")
remember.ts — remembered daemon on ctx.storage, until-gone via health-check drop; no state file
timing.ts — execute.after records for both statuses of the union (failures recorded, not just successes)
tools.ts — tool.transform registration under the mcpx namespace: discover / exec / observe plus daemon_status / daemon_select / daemon_forget, gated exactly as v1 (tools opt-in; daemon tools when asked, when the full set is on, or when boot discovery is ambiguous). Verified against the pin: editor.namespace({ name, description }), plain JSON Schema inputs, and effectiveName flattening means the model still sees mcpx_exec etc. §7's namespace question is resolved in the doc.
Honest v2 differences (recorded in tools.ts): the v2 ToolContext has no ctx.ask, so daemon_select applies the choice directly instead of confirming; there is no TUI channel in the server context slice, so ambiguity rides the tool-result annotation line rather than toasts.
NOT in this PR — the SET-REMAINDER on #1858, to be enqueued when this core lands: sampling answers via ctx.generate.text, mcp.transform filtered per-session registration, permission.hook("evaluate"), and the promise-based TUI select() daemon picker. Server-side _meta['ai.opencode/sessionID'] attribution is #1932's tracked work, not this PR.
Tests:bun test plugin/opencode/v2/ — 15 pass (context/storage/session-env + the new tools.test.ts: registration names, gating, executor fallbacks, storage-backed select scopes); full plugin suite 50 tests, 0 fail, on the laptop worktree. Go settings guards (TestThePluginReadsNoUndeclaredSetting, script-env) run in CI over the new tree.
Summary by CodeRabbit
New Features
Added support for the OpenCode v2 plugin, with configurable daemon discovery and CLI fallback.
Added tools for discovering, running, and observing commands, plus managing daemon selection and status.
Added optional session instructions, environment syncing, and tool execution timing.
Added daemon choices that can be remembered for a session or longer, with health checks to discard unavailable daemons.
Tools and optional features remain disabled by default unless enabled in configuration.
… tools (#1858)
Implements the first slice of pkgs/mcpx/docs/opencode-plugin-v2.md §6 on
branch queue/3068-1858-opencode-v2-plugin (groundwork PR #2457 merged):
index.ts {id, setup} wiring, options.ts (v1 Options verbatim + declared
MCPX_PLUGIN_* names for the settings guard), session-env.ts (PUT
/api/session/:id/environment once per session with the FULL env — the
route replaces, verified §3), context.ts (idempotent system paragraph),
remember.ts (ctx.storage remembered daemon, until-gone via health drop),
timing.ts (execute.after status-union records), daemon.ts (re-export of
the shared harness-free core). tools.ts (tool.transform registration)
remains for the next slice.
Tests: bun test plugin/opencode/v2/v2.test.ts — 6 pass (storage
round-trip + until-gone drop, full-env-once send, no-serverUrl degrade,
context append-once); existing mcpx ops/ceiling suites still pass.

Merge Risk: Moderate · previous review 64e3f
Resolve the v2 routing and destructive-selection issues before merging: one session can affect another’s daemon choice, and selection can shut down unintended daemons without confirmation. Explicit binary disabling also needs to remain effective. Smaller recovery and diagnostic defects remain.

…dence, forward ctx.options (#1858)
options.ts listed the MCPX_PLUGIN_* names as quoted literals, which TestTheScriptEnvironmentIsWhatTheCodeSets counts as variables the plugin SETS; ScriptEnv declares none of them, so basic:test failed on PR 2489. Reads are now property accesses, the v1 idiom. toolTiming resolves option -> env -> false (the v1 default) inside resolveOptions, and the default export forwards ctx.options (Codex P2). Verified: go test ./internal/settings/ ok and bun test v2/ 6/6 on the laptop.
…d registration (#1858)
tools.ts ports the v1 tool surface (discover/exec/observe + daemon_status/select/forget) to ctx.tool.transform under the mcpx namespace; the pin flattens namespaced tools to mcpx_<name>, so the model-facing names are unchanged. Namespace verified against the pinned v2 (promise/tool.ts, core tool runtime effectiveName): editor.namespace takes {name, description}, input is a plain JSON Schema ValueSchema, execute returns {content}.
Honest v2 differences, recorded in tools.ts: no ctx.ask (v2 ToolContext has none; permission domain is SET-REMAINDER), so daemon_select applies the choice directly; no toasts (no TUI channel in the server context slice) — ambiguity rides the annotation line; remembered daemon is ctx.storage, re-read on v1s cadence.
options.ts resolution extended to the settings the tools consume (endpoint/socket/binArgs/tools/daemonTools/annotate/discoveryRetry), all declared names, property reads only. index.ts wires registration last and never lets it fail setup.
Tests: bun test plugin/opencode/v2 — 15 pass (9 new in tools.test.ts); full plugin suite 50 tests, 0 fail, on the laptop worktree.

…graph (#1858)
Codex P2 on PR 2489: resolveOptions dropped instructions and the context hook appended the paragraph unconditionally, so MCPX_PLUGIN_INSTRUCTIONS=false could not disable it — contradicting v1 (mcpx-session.ts gates its system transform on settings.instructions, default false) and the README.
Fix: resolve instructions with v1 precedence (option, then MCPX_PLUGIN_INSTRUCTIONS, then false); the context hook appends the paragraph only when it is on. The session-environment send in the same hook stays unconditional — identity plumbing is not help. Two setup-level tests cover both positions.

Review comments at @pkgs/mcpx/plugin/opencode/v2/tools.ts:

to remove or reject stopOthers, so selecting a daemon cannot shut down other

- Around line 239-250: Update annotation handling in annotation() so viaCLI
binary-produced results are not labeled as answered by the chosen daemon; append
this annotation only to responses known to come from that daemon, or use wording
that does not claim which daemon answered.
- Around line 260-278: Update applyChoice so session-scoped daemon choices are
stored by sessionID rather than in the runtime-wide chosen and found state. Pass
sessionID through look(), daemon(), and the tool executors, and use it to
retrieve the correct session’s choice so one session cannot route through
another session’s daemon.
- Around line 207-225: Update forget in the viaDaemon error path to clear
missedAt when invalidating a failed daemon, so the next call can immediately run
daemon discovery instead of honoring the discovery cooldown.
- Around line 282-301: Update rememberDaemon and its persisted record to retain
the selected scope, then update runtime reads of that record to health-check
until-gone entries and forget them when their daemon is no longer answering;
keep indefinite entries persistent and preferred as before.
- Around line 367-388: Update the daemon_select schema and execute input to use
the candidate’s targetKey socket identity instead of a ranked index. Resolve the
selection by matching targetKey(c.target) against the requested identity, and
reject requests when no candidate in the current list matches; preserve the
existing selection and stopOthers behavior for a match.

See Configure plugins for more loading and configuration options.
## Lifecycle
`setup` runs when the plugin loads. It may return a cleanup function that runs when the plugin unloads.
`import { Plugin } from "@opencode/plugin"
export default Plugin.define({
id: "example",
setup(ctx) {
console.log(`loaded in OpenCode ${ctx.app.version}`)
return () => console.log("unloaded")
},
})`
### Context
The plugin context is essentially an OpenCode server client. Its read and action methods use the same inputs and responses as the client. It adds plugin-only methods for transforms, runtime hooks, reloads, registrations, and plugin options.
`setup(ctx) {
console.log(ctx.app.version)
}`
`ctx.location` describes the location where this plugin instance is loaded. It includes `directory`, optional `workspaceID`, and `project` metadata (`id`, `directory`, and `canonical`). It is available in both Promise and Effect plugins. This is the plugin instance’s location, not the location of every session it can access or event it receives.
`setup(ctx) {
console.log(ctx.location.directory)
console.log(ctx.location.project.canonical)
}`
### Options
Pass plugin options with the object form in `opencode.json(c)`.
opencode.jsonc
`{
"plugins": [
{
"package": "./plugins/company",
"options": {
"strict": true,
},
},
],
}`
Read those values from `ctx.options` during `setup`.
plugins/company/index.ts
`import { Plugin } from "@opencode/plugin"
export default Plugin.define({
id: "company",
setup(ctx) {
const strict = ctx.options.strict === true
},
})`
## Transforms
Transforms are synchronous edits to OpenCode’s domain state, and each builds on earlier registrations. Registry reads such as `ctx.catalog.model.list()` reflect every registration so far, including during plugin setup; startup batching only coalesces update notifications and never delays what a read returns. ## API
### Agent
Read all agents or fetch one by ID.
`const agents = await ctx.agent.list()
const build = await ctx.agent.get({ agentID: "build" })`
Register a transform to inspect, update, remove, or select the default agent.
`await ctx.agent.transform((editor) => {
const agents = editor.list()
const build = editor.get("build")
editor.default("build")
editor.update("build", (agent) => {
agent.description = "Builds features and fixes bugs"
})
editor.remove("legacy")
})`
Reload agents after external state used by a transform changes.
`await ctx.agent.reload()`
#### Reference
Schema: `Agent.Info`
`interface AgentContext {
list(input?: AgentListInput, requestOptions?: RequestOptions): Promise<AgentListOutput>
get(input: AgentGetInput, requestOptions?: RequestOptions): Promise<AgentGetOutput>
transform(callback: (editor: AgentEditor) => void): Promise<Registration>
reload(): Promise<void>
### Plugins
List the plugins currently active for a location.
`const plugins = await ctx.plugin.list()`
#### Reference
Schemas: `Plugin.Info`, `Plugin.Source`
`interface PluginContext {
list(input?: PluginListInput, requestOptions?: RequestOptions): Promise<PluginListOutput>
}`
### References
Read the references available at a location.
`const references = await ctx.reference.list()`
Register a transform to inspect, add, or remove local and Git references. `get(name)` returns the current configured source, or `undefined` when the name is absent.
`await ctx.reference.transform((editor) => {
const references = editor.list()
editor.add("handbook", { type: "local", path: "/workspace/docs/handbook" })
editor.add("standards", { type: "git", repository: "https://github.com/acme/standards", branch: "main" })
const handbook = editor.get("handbook")
editor.remove("legacy")
})`
Reload references after external state used by a transform changes.
### Tools
Register, update, and remove tools with a synchronous transform, including in Promise plugins. Load external data before registering or reloading. A later valid registration overrides the same effective tool name.
`const registration = await ctx.tool.transform((editor) => {
editor.namespace({
name: "acme",
description: "Customer account tools",
})
editor.add({
name: "greeting",
description: "Create a greeting",
input: {
type: "object",
properties: { name: { type: "string" } },
required: ["name"],
additionalProperties: false,
},
options: { namespace: "acme", codemode: true },
execute: async (input, tool) => {
await tool.progress({ status: "greeting" })
return { content: `Hello ${(input as { name: string }).name}!` }
},
})
})`
Call `reload()` after changing source data captured by the callback. Reload replays the active transforms without changing their order; it does not rerun plugin setup.
`await ctx.tool.reload()`
Use `list()` and `get()` to inspect tools currently in the editor. Tools have an `id` containing their effective name, and `get()` returns `undefined` when that ID is not present. Use `update` and `remove` with the effective tool name, including its namespace (`acme_greeting` above). Dots in namespaces and unsupported characters in tool names become `_`. Missing names are ignored; creating a tool requires `add` with a complete definition. Updates preserve the name and namespace. Assign new schemas or options to replace them rather than mutating nested values. Invalid updates are logged and leave the previous definition intact.
`await ctx.tool.transform((editor) => {
editor.update("acme_greeting", (tool) => {
tool.description = "Greet the user by name"
})
editor.remove("acme_obsolete")
})`
Updates and removals replay in order with additions, including after MCP catalog refreshes. Disposing their registration removes those changes and rebuilds from the remaining transforms.
Dispose a registration to remove its transform and rebuild from the remaining transforms, revealing any earlier definition it overrode. Disposal is idempotent, and unloading the plugin also disposes its registrations.
`await registration.dispose()`
Each model request captures a stable, executable tool snapshot. Later transforms, reloads, and disposal affect future snapshots, not the definitions, Code Mode namespace descriptions, or executors already captured. Executors that close over mutable plugin data still observe that data; capture a value inside the transform when it must remain tied to that definition.
#### Reference
Schemas: `Tool.Content`, `Tool.TextContent`, `Tool.FileContent`
`interface ToolContext {
transform(callback: (editor: ToolEditor) => void): Promise<Registration>
reload(): Promise<void>
}
interface ToolEditor {
list(): readonly (ToolInfo & { readonly id: string })[]
get(id: string): (ToolInfo & { readonly id: string }) | undefined

add(tool: ToolInfo): void
update(id: string, update: (tool: Types.Mutable<ToolInfo>) => void): void
remove(id: string): void
}`
Both hooks run for every request a session issues. `event.kind` says which flow issued it: `"primary"` for the agent loop, `"compaction"` for checkpoint summaries, `"title"` for title generation, and `"generate"` for transient `ctx.session.generate` calls. Use it instead of the agent ID to tell auxiliary requests apart.
`await ctx.session.hook("http.request", (event) => {
event.request.headers.set("x-session-id", event.sessionID)
if (event.kind === "title") event.request.headers.set("x-priority", "background")
})
await ctx.session.hook("http.response", (event) => {
event.response = new Response(event.response.body, {
status: event.response.status,
headers: { ...Object.fromEntries(event.response.headers), "x-plugin": "review" },
})
})`
#### Retry policy
Override the retry decision for a provider failure or replace its delay in milliseconds. The hook runs after OpenCode classifies the failure and proposes its policy, but before any retry is scheduled. It does not expose how OpenCode internally performs the next attempt.
`await ctx.session.hook("retry", (event) => {
if (event.error.status === 429) {
event.decision = { retry: true, delay: 10_000 }
return
}
if (event.error.type === "provider.invalid-request" && event.attempt === 2) {
event.decision = { retry: true, delay: 0 }
return
}
if (event.attempt >= 3) event.decision = { retry: false }
})`
Retry hooks can change OpenCode’s initial `decision` by making a terminal failure retryable or vetoing a proposed retry.
Retry decisions follow these rules:
* Multiple hooks run in registration order, and later hooks see the current decision.
* The built-in maximum attempt count remains a hard limit.
* `attempt` is the physical attempt under consideration. The initial request is `1`, so the first retry is `2`.
* Invalid delays such as `NaN`, infinity, or negative values fall back to the computed delay.
* Context-overflow recovery is separate because it compacts the conversation instead of retrying the same request.

<title>Plugins | OpenCode</title>
<location>https://docs.opencode.ai/docs/plugins/</location>
<excerpt>citeturn0search1 [wordlim: 200] Crawled: today; import { type Plugin, tool } from "@opencode-ai/plugin"
### Custom tools
Plugins can also add custom tools to opencode:
.opencode/plugins/custom-tools.ts
`
import { type Plugin, tool } from "@opencode-ai/plugin"
export const CustomToolsPlugin: Plugin = async (ctx) => {
return {
tool: {
mytool: tool({
description: "This is a custom tool",
args: {
foo: tool.schema.string(),
},
async execute(args, context) {
const { directory, worktree } = context
return `Hello ${args.foo} from ${directory} (worktree: ${worktree})`
},
}),
},
}
}
`
The `tool` helper creates a custom tool that opencode can call. It takes a Zod schema function and returns a tool definition with:
* `description`: What the tool does
* `args`: Zod schema for the tool’s arguments
* `execute`: Function that runs when the tool is called
Your custom tools will be available to opencode alongside built-in tools.
Note
If a plugin tool uses the same name as a built-in tool, the plugin tool takes precedence.
### Logging
Use `client.app.log()` instead of `console.log` for structured logging:
.opencode/plugins/my-plugin.ts
`
export const MyPlugin = async ({ client }) => {
await client.app.log({
body: {
service: "my-plugin",
level: "info",
message: "Plugin initialized",
extra: { foo: "bar" },
},
})
}
`
Levels: `debug`, `info`, `warn`, `error`. See SDK documentation for details.
### Compaction hooks
Customize the context included when a session is compacted:
.opencode/plugins/compaction.ts
`
import type { Plugin } from "@opencode-ai/plugin"
export const CompactionPlugin: Plugin = async (ctx) => {
return {
</excerpt>
</source>

event.env.COMPANY_ENV = "development"
})
},
})`
Registrations stay active for the plugin’s lifetime and are disposed when it unloads. Retain the returned registration only when the plugin needs to remove that particular hook or transform earlier with `registration.dispose()`.
Use this table to find the closest V2 API for each V1 hook:
V1 hook | V2 API
--- | ---
`event` | `ctx.event.subscribe()`
`dispose` | cleanup function returned by `setup`
`config` | transforms on the affected domains
`tool` map | `ctx.tool.transform(...)`
`auth` | `ctx.integration.transform(...)` and integration APIs
`provider` | `ctx.provider.transform(...)` and `ctx.model.transform(...)`
`chat.message` | `ctx.session.hook("prompt", ...)`
`chat.params` | `ctx.session.hook("context", ...)`
`chat.headers` | `ctx.session.hook("model.request", ...)` or `"http.request"`
`permission.ask` | `ctx.permission.hook("evaluate", ...)`
`command.execute.before` | command transforms or the prompt hook, depending on intent
`tool.execute.before` | `ctx.tool.hook("execute.before", ...)`
`tool.execute.after` | `ctx.tool.hook("execute.after", ...)`
`shell.env` | `ctx.shell.hook("create.before", ...)`
`tool.definition` | `ctx.tool.transform(...)`
`experimental.chat.system.transform` | `ctx.session.hook("context", ...)` and edit `event.system`
`experimental.chat.messages.transform` | `ctx.session.hook("context", ...)` and edit `event.messages`
`experimental.session.compacting` | `ctx.session.hook("compaction", ...)`
These are migration destinations, not always exact renames. In particular, the V2 `prompt` hook runs before durable prompt admission, while `context` runs immediately before an agent model request. Register `context`, `compaction`, `generate`, and `title` separately if a transformation must apply to every model request kind.
There is no direct V2 hook corresponding to every experimental V1 hook. Re-evaluate plugins that use `experimental.compaction.autocontinue`, `experimental.provider.small_model`, or `experimental.text.complete` against the V2 session, provider, model, and event APIs rather than preserving an internal lifecycle assumption.
`command.execute.before` also has no one-to-one global hook. Register a command with `ctx.command.transform` when the plugin owns that command. Use the prompt hook when the real intent is to modify prompts submitted by commands and other prompt sources.
})
await ctx.session.hook("model.request", (event) => {
event.headers["x-plugin"] = "review"
})
},
})`
Use semantic provider options in `event.options`. Use `model.request` for model request headers and raw request settings, and use `http.request` or `http.response` only when the plugin needs the native provider HTTP exchange. Provider-specific hooks can pass `{ providerID: "..." }` as the third argument to `ctx.session.hook`.
## Migrate custom tools
V1 returns a `tool` map built with the old `tool()` helper. V2 registers tool definitions through a synchronous `ctx.tool.transform` editor. Tool schemas use JSON Schema, and execution returns structured content.
V1
`import { tool } from "@opencode-ai/plugin"
export const ToolsPlugin = async () => ({
tool: {
greeting: tool({
description: "Create a greeting",
args: { name: tool.schema.string() },
async execute(args) {
return `Hello ${args.name}!`
},
}),
},
})`
V2
`import { Plugin } from "@opencode/plugin"
export default Plugin.define({
id: "greeting",
async setup(ctx) {
await ctx.tool.transform((editor) => {
editor.add({
name: "greeting",
description: "Create a greeting",
input: {
type: "object",
properties: { name: { type: "string" } },
required: ["name"],
additionalProperties: false,
},
async execute(input) {
return { content: `Hello ${(input as { name: string }).name}!` }
},
})
})
},
})`
Transforms are replayable state edits. Keep their callback synchronous, cheap, and free of one-time side effects. Load external data before registration, capture it in the callback, and call the domain’s `reload()` method when that data changes. A later plugin transform sees earlier changes and may update, replace, or remove them.
The same transform pattern replaces V1 `config` and `provider` hooks, but V2 does not expose one mutable global config object. Register the change with the domain that owns it: `ctx.agent`, `ctx.provider`, `ctx.model`, `ctx.command`, `ctx.integration`, `ctx.mcp`, `ctx.reference`, `ctx.skill`, `ctx.tool`, `ctx.vcs`, `ctx.websearch`, or `ctx.worktree`. Authentication methods belong to integrations; provider transforms contribute source definitions and provider settings, while model transforms apply restrictions and overrides to the complete active-provider model collection.
`await ctx.provider.transform((editor) => {
editor.update("anthropic", (provider) => {
provider.headers = { ...provider.headers, "x-company": "engineering" }
})
})
await ctx.model.transform((editor) => {
editor.list("anthropic").forEach((model) => {
if (!model.capabilities.tools) editor.remove(model.providerID, model.id)
})
})`

# Tools
Manage the tools an LLM can use.
Tools allow the LLM to perform actions in your codebase. OpenCode comes with a set of built-in tools, but you can extend it with custom tools or MCP servers.
By default, all tools are enabled and don’t need permission to run. You can control tool behavior through permissions.
## Configure
Use the `permission` field to control tool behavior. You can allow, deny, or require approval for each tool.
opencode.json
`
{
"$schema": "https://opencode.ai/config.json",
"permission": {
"edit": "deny",
"bash": "ask",
"webfetch": "allow"
}
}
`
You can also use wildcards to control multiple tools at once. For example, to require approval for all tools from an MCP server:
opencode.json
`
{
"$schema": "https://opencode.ai/config.json",
"permission": {
"mymcp_*": "ask"
}
}
`
Learn more about configuring permissions.
## Built-in
Here are all the built-in tools available in OpenCode.
* * *
### bash
Execute shell commands in your project environment.
opencode.json
`
{
"$schema": "https://opencode.ai/config.json",
"permission": {
"bash": "allow"
}
}
`
This tool allows the LLM to run terminal commands like `npm install`, `git status`, or any other shell command.

`
The ID must be in the advertised skill list or explicitly named by the user. Permission: `skill` with the skill ID as its resource. See Skills for creation, discovery, and loading rules.
## Automation
### Subagent
`subagent` starts a child session with a configured subagent. Supply the agent ID, a short `description`, and a complete `prompt`.
`Ask the explore subagent to map the authentication flow and return the key files.`
Foreground calls wait for the result. `background: true` returns immediately and notifies the parent when the child finishes. Pass the returned `sessionID` to continue that same child conversation. Only subagent-mode agents can be used, and the default nesting depth is one.
Permission: `subagent` with the selected agent ID as its resource.
### Execute
`execute` runs JavaScript in Code Mode so the agent can call and combine tools from the catalog. It is useful for parallel independent calls and for processing results without adding every intermediate value to the model context.
`Read package.json and README.md in parallel, then return their relevant setup details.`
The runtime has no direct filesystem access, imports, or timers. It provides `fetch` for HTTP requests; everything else goes through tools in its catalog. Denying `execute` with resource `*` removes Code Mode and every tool reached only through it, including MCP tools from servers that do not set `codemode: false`. Nested built-in and MCP tools still enforce their own permissions, and plugin tools enforce the permissions they assert.

Report rejected tool registration without aborting setup.
registerTools can reject at toolDomain.transform(...), and index.ts converts that rejection to a successful setup with .catch(() => []). This can leave no or only some mcpx tools without a plugin diagnostic. Preserve the session hooks, but report the registration error through the host logging API.

Clear the discovery cooldown after a daemon operation error.
When a daemon operation fails, forget() sets missedAt. A tool call during discoveryRetryMs then skips discovery and treats the daemon as unavailable. Reset missedAt when invalidating a failed daemon so the next call can discover a replacement.

Do not name a daemon in the annotation of binary-produced results.
When discovery is ambiguous, annotation() appends "answered by " to results from viaCLI too. viaCLI does not pass the chosen daemon to the binary, so the binary may answer from another daemon or from none. Append the annotation only to daemon responses, or change its wording to name the binary.

applyChoice stores a session choice in the runtime-wide chosen and found variables. Tool executors do not read context.sessionID. When session A picks a daemon, session B's mcpx_exec calls can route to A's daemon while it still answers. Store session-scope choices per session, and pass the session ID through look(), daemon(), and the executors.

Expire until-gone records when their daemon stops.
until-gone writes the same record as indefinite, and no runtime read removes it when the daemon stops. The only health-checked read, recallDaemon, has no runtime caller. A restarted daemon stays preferred over other daemons. Store the scope in the record, then health-check and forget until-gone records on the read paths.

Bind daemon_select to the candidate that daemon_status showed.
daemon_status already prints each candidate’s targetKey as its socket field. Add that identity to the daemon_select schema and select by it instead of by a newly ranked index. Reject the request when the identity is absent from the current list.
If a daemon starts or stops between the two calls, ranking can change the index. With stopOthers, the current code can select one daemon and shut down the daemon the user intended to keep.

Gate stopOthers behind a confirmation, or remove it from the v2 tool.
When stopOthers is true, mcpx_daemon_select calls shutdown() on every other listed daemon, and each shutdown ends that daemon's sessions. The v2 executor has no confirmation step. The v1 tool confirmed this action through ctx.ask first. Until the host can confirm the action, remove stopOthers from the v2 schema or reject it.
